Bun in the Oven!

Yup, that's right, there's a bun in the oven! Adam and I are expecting a little turkey around November 28th. We found out we were pregnant about a month ago, but we wanted to wait until we had our first doctors appointment to share the news. It was so fun to see our family's reactions. We are so excited! I am 9 weeks prego (a little over 2 months), and feeling pretty good. Just a little tired, okay a lot tired! The ultrasound was so awesome. Right now the baby is about the size of a kidney bean, tiny! We saw it's little heart beating away, our doctor said it was a strong and healthy heartbeat. We will be able to find out if it is a boy or a girl at our June appointment. Either one will be wonderful. This is an exciting time for us, we look forward to the journey to becoming parents!

BiG PuPPy!

My dad and Susan just added a new member to their family, Lucy. This isn't a picture of her, but she looks just like this (I haven't got one of her yet, I'll add them when I do.) She is an English Mastiff and she's adorable! She is so cuddly and clumsy. She is already growing so fast. She will get to be really big, like 150 lbs! My brother Jared and his wife Ashley also got one, they named him Diesel. Susan's daugther Kali has the dad, and her daughter Jamie has the mom, so they will get to see their family a bunch. We would have wanted a puppy too, but only if it would stay this small!!

The Joy of Babysitting!

I was able to babysit our oh so cute niece and nephew quite a bit in the past couple months. Their mamma, Alexis, was finishing up her internship so she can graduate this semester (Way to go!!) I absolutely love hanging out with them. They are so sweet, and very easy to be around! Avery is a doll! We had gone to the park one day and she was having so much fun watching her big brother Brogan play, it must have worn her out because she fell asleep on my shoulder on the walk home. Brogan is such a character, he has a ton of personality. I love how excited and happy he gets over the simple things. It's so fun to hear Brogan try to say our names, I am "B-B" and Adam is "Am." Someday maybe Adam and I will have little ones of our own to blog about, but for now, we adore these sweet kids!

Superstar!

Adam has tattooed him self once again. In addition to HUTCH going down his ribs, he now has a star on the back of each shoulder. I think they look great on his nice body :0) He likes them and is excited to show them off on the beaches of MEXICO, wahoo!!

Labor of Love

My mom and Brent have cows on their ranch, and they were all calving (having their babies) while we were there. He has a big calving shed where the moms can be warm and comfortable while they are in labor. The little babies were so cute. We walked into the shed right after one was born, we watched it try to stand up on it's wobbly legs for the first time! The momma cows licked their calves clean and were very protective of their little ones. Maternal instict is amazing! Babies are always adorable, even if they are going to grow up to be cows!

Food for the Elk!

We made another trip up to the ranch in March to see my mom and Brent. They have some neighbors with the craziest job! The state of Wyoming pays them to feed the wild hunted elk during the winter season. Adam and Scott were able to go with them to feed while we were there. I didn't go because I thought it would be too cold, I know, LAME! I'm so going next time. Anyways, they snowmobiled up the mountain to where they keep the HUGE horses that pull the sleigh of hay. The horses are named Bert and Bill, and Adam said they are bigger than any horse you've ever seen. When they get to a clearing they let out a big wistle, and out of the trees come about 200 wild elk! They ate the hay out of their hands. There were a couple of big bulls in the group, and some cute babies. Adam says it is one of the "sweetest" things he has ever done.
