Baby Kadence update...

We had our 36 week appointment on Tuesday. The Dr. said she weighs about 6.5 lbs and her head measured at 37 weeks, so she's going to be really smart ;) He said I am 75% thinned out and dilated to a 2! He said she is low in my pelvis and he could feel her little, well, apparently BiG head! We were so excited to hear that we're making progress! He said that if he had to guess, Kadence would come at least a week early, but that he would know a little more after he checks me next week. I know that some people have been dilated to a 2 for up to a month, so we're not going to get our hopes up, but we would LOVE her to come a bit early. It would be so nice to have her here for Thanksgiving so we can show her off to family! We have another appointment next Thursday, so you know I'll be updating you again after that!

We also found out on Tuesday that my brother Jared and his wife Ashley are going to be having a girl! We're so excited for them! Now Kadence will have two little girl cousins close to her age to play with! Oh, can't wait for dance classes and all that girly stuff!

We didn't get a picture at our last ultrasound, so I thought I'd throw this in for your reading pleasure...enjoy =)

Your pregnancy: 36 weeks
See the big picture
How your baby's growing:Your baby is still packing on the pounds — at the rate of about an ounce a day. She now weighs almost 6 pounds (like a crenshaw melon) and is more than 18 1/2 inches long. She's shedding most of the downy covering of hair that covered her body as well as the vernix caseosa, the waxy substance that covered and protected her skin during her nine-month amniotic bath. Your baby swallows both of these substances, along with other secretions, resulting in a blackish mixture, called meconium, will form the contents of her first bowel movement. At the end of this week, your baby will be considered full-term. (Full-term is 37 to 42 weeks; babies born before 37 weeks are pre-term and those born after 42 are post-term.) Most likely she's in a head-down position. But if she isn't, your practitioner may suggest scheduling an "external cephalic version," which is a fancy way of saying she'll try to coax your baby into a head-down position by manipulating her from the outside of your belly.

Happy Birthday DAD!

We went over to my dad and Susan's Sunday to celebrate his birthday. Susan made a YUMMY dinner for all of us. It was so good to see everyone! Susan's daughter Kallie and her family were there with the brand new baby Gage. I haven't seen him since he was born...and he still looks so tiny! I held him a lot, and got to feed him a bottle. I will say that I'm going to need some practice when it comes to burping the baby, I couldn't do it right! I guess I was being too gentle to get the job done. Well we hope you had a happy birthday dad, we love you!!!

Hunting-WARNING to any duck or goose lovers!

Adam and my brother Scott went duck hunting, again, this weekend. They had a really good day! Adam got a Goose, and they both got some Green Head Mallards. You can see their duck boat in the background, their pride and joy!! All I have to say boys, LOVE the half camo, half sweats look you've got going on!

Cute Boys!

Adam and our nephew Brogan just lounging at Papa and Nana Hutchinson's, do you see any resemblances?

I got to go to lunch yesterday with my sister-in-law Alexis, and our cute friend Megan. My nephew Brogan and Megan's little boy Bentley had so much fun together! They held hands all the way out of the restaurant, and Bentley even helped Brogan get into his car seat, what a good pal!! Brogan and Bentley are the same age, and Megan is pregnant with baby Jace, and she's due the day before I am. We are going to have to have some serious play dates in the future! Thanks for the fun lunch girls!!

MaN TaG

Thanks for the Tag Brooke!

What is your husband's name? Adam Spencer Hutchinson

How long have you been married? 1 year, 4 months

How long did you date? 7 years, engaged for 9 months

How old is he? 23

Who eats more sweets? Right now, me! We just bought a HUGE bag of Halloween candy, not to give out, just for us to eat, yum!

Who said I love you first? It has been soooo long, I don't remember, that's bad huh?!

Who is taller? Adam is, he's 6 feet, I'm 5 foot 5'.

Who can sing best? Neither of us!!! We crack each other up all the time trying though.

Who is smarter? I think I am smarter when it comes to school, well, maybe just more responsible. Adam has more common sense than I do =)

Who does the laundry? I do. Adam will carry the heavy hamper down to the laundry room though, and sometimes he helps me fold.

Who pays the bills? I do, I'm too much of a control freak to leave it in the hands of another. I'm sure he would do just fine, but I would probably always be asking if he remembered to pay them.

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Me. We tried to switch one time, and we both slept like crap.

Who mows the lawn? ADAM! I have never mowed the lawn in my life. The most yard work I've ever done is sweep up the grass off the driveway after the lawn has been mowed. Adam just always takes care of it.

Who cooks dinner? When we actually plan a meal, we both cook. Adam handles the meat, because he thinks since I'm pregnant, I shouldn't be anywhere near raw meat, I'm fine with that =). Adam is good at grilling, he usually always gets the meat just right, not too dry.

Who drives? Adam always drives, unless he's had anything to drink, then I'm all over it.

Who kissed who first? He kissed me first. I know I didn't, because I was too scared! It was my very first kiss. We were in 9th grade, and sitting on his bed. His friends Zac and Ty were on the floor in front of us playing video games, how romantic huh?!?

Who asked who out first? Ha Ha, well, since we were too young to actually go out on a date, asking someone out meant that you were boyfriend-girlfriend. On August 15th, 2000, Zac Davis called me and said Adam wanted to know if I would "go out" with him. I was such a brat, I told Zac that if Adam wanted to go out with me, he should call and ask me himself. Poor guy! So 15 minutes later, Adam called and asked me himself, and I said YeS! I was soooooo excited that Adam Hutchinson was my boyfriend!

Who wears the pants? I really think we both do. We usually discuss things and communicate pretty well when we have to make a decision.

Now you all know Adam a bit better. I'm so thankful to have him as my husband and best friend, I love you babe!!!!

I Tag, Megan Whitear, Shannon Williams, Alexis Garrett, and Kim Monkres!

Getting ahead of myself!

Sorry, I guess I'm just wishful thinking, it wasn't our 36 week appointmet, I'm 34 weeks!! Ahhh! More of the crazy prego brain, I swear I am always doing things like this lately.

More Baby Talk

We had our 36 week ultrasound last night, and everything looks good! The Dr. said Kadence weighs right around 5 lbs. It was hard to get a good picture of her because her hands were right up against her face, at least you can see her nose and lips in this one. I think she still has her daddy's nose, his top lip, and maybe my bottom lip =) Who knows??? We can't wait to really see her! My due date is 6 weeks away, but hopefully she'll come a couple of weeks early.
I feel like I'm ready to have her any day now! People keep asking me if she's "dropped" yet, and I'm like, I don't know, does she look like it?? This is all new to me! Well, I was asking my Dr. about some cramping I've been feeling, and feeling like I'm going to start my period, and he said that is Kadence starting to descend down into the birth canal. So, now I can tell people that yes, she is starting to "drop." This is exciting news for me because it is just one step closer to having her here!
In this picture you can see the vinyl birdcages we added to the nursery, and the cute chair my in-law's made for me (well, my prego body is kind of hiding the chair, but you get the idea). Doesn't it look sweet?? I have to give all the credit to my wonderful husband for hanging the vinyl, he did everything, and it's harder to hang than you would think! I just sat back in that chair and supervised. If I would have tried to hang them myself, they would have ended up crooked, and I would have been crying! So thanks babe, Love you!
Oh, and if anyone is interested, call me to go to lunch or something, because one; I love to eat, two; I am running out of things to clean, and three; I'm bored!!! I stopped working a couple of weeks ago, which I am very thankful for, but I don't know what to do with myself. Adam tells me to "take it easy," but there's only so much of that I can handle! I guess I should take advantage of the alone time now, because I know that soon, I will always have a little one to keep me company =)

The Baby Shower for me and Kadence

My mother-in-law and sister-in-law gave me a baby shower last weekend! They are both sooooo talented, and pay so much attention to detail. It was a sweet pea or pea in a pod theme, and everything was pink and green, which just so happens to be the colors of Kadence's nursery...perfect!

Alexis found this rocking chair on KSL.com for $20. We loved the shape of it, and lucky for me, my in-laws do a fabulous job of recovering furniture! This is a before and after... I absolutely LOVE it! Annette and Alexis surprised me by having it finished for the shower. It matches so well in the nursery, I can't wait to rock little Kadence to sleep in it!

Annette made these cookies, cupcakes, and lifesaver binkies, isn't she amazing?!?

Alexis made me a darling diaper cake (notice the little pea pods), and oh so cute Tutu. Expect a post of Kadence in this Tutu in the future!

My mom gave me this quilt for one of my gifts. It is a quilt my grandma made for me when I was born, my mom said I used to cuddle with it. I don't remember it, but I am so happy she saved it all of these years for me! Kadence can use it, and then I'll save it and give it to her when she has her first baby. So sweet mom, thanks!

Annette also made a hooded towel and washcloths that match Kadence's bedding, don't they look like they came straight from Pottery Barn?
My friend Rachel flew in all the way from Denver to come to my shower! She and Megan are such great friends!

My mom and I...Look at all that pink behind us!!!

Thank you Annette and Alexis for all you did to make my shower perfect, Love you guys! Thanks to everyone that came, you all spoiled me!
