House Update

I haven't made a post about our house in a long time, so I thought I'd bring you all up to date. The stucco is complete and Adam has been working is behind off trying to get the stone done. Unfortunately we missed out on the Branding fun up at the Ranch this Memorial Day weekend, but we did get a lot accomplished here.

Adam and his mom, laying stone.
This picture doesn't do justice to the height of where they are working. I swear, when I'm standing right under them, and all they are standing on is a skinny board, it looks so dangerous!
My in-laws are so nice to help out!

Doesn't it look good? Adam amazes me with his talent. I am so so so proud of him! Once he gets the exterior done, it's on to the fireplace inside.
They should be painting the inside of the house today, I'm so anxious to see the color go up. It's hard to pick from those little swatches, so I'm hoping it looks good. Every time we stop by to check out the progress, Kadence says, "wow, it's getting bigger mom!" Ha Ha, I think she means it's getting closer to being finished =)

Ogden Half Marathon

I ran my first half marathon, it was awesome! Except for mile 3, when both of my feet went pins and needles numb. It only lasted a little bit though, thank goodness! My goal time was 2.10, but I finished in 2.22. I'll take that, I was just happy to finish and run the whole time. I absolutely loved it and want to make it a yearly tradition. Hopefully next time, I'll get more than a months notice to train (I took someone's spot this year). My work is fabulous and shuttled us up in a stretch hummer, paid for our race, and fed us a yummy dinner that night, love my job! Thanks to my hubs who bought me new shoes and a nike + watch that tracks my mileage and pace, love them and him! Here are some pictures from the website, they are small, but you get the picture.

The Replacement...

So, every year my work sponsors the employees to run in the Ogden Marathon, full, half, relay, or 5k. I've always done the 5k, it's easy enough and just my speed. This year though, for some reason, I missed the sign up, so I've been kind of bummed I wasn't going to participate. Anyway, a bunch of my friends at work had signed up for the half marathon, and one of them happened to break her toe two weeks ago. I got a call from her, and she asked if I'd take her place...and I said yes! At that point I hadn't been running at all, crazy. So for the past two weeks, and for the next 17 days, running it is. The longest I've ran so far is 6 miles, not even half what I'll be running the day of. My sweet Husband bought me these shoes as an early Mother's Day present. I wasn't sure I wanted to get new shoes so close to the run, but I have to admit, they are much more fashionable than my old running shoes. They gave me a little boost of motivation! Wish me luck!

We started Easter weekend off up at the ranch. We colored some eggs, and surprise, surprise, PINK was Kadence's favorite color of egg.

She actually did really well dipping them and getting them out of the cups, no messes!

We bought a Toy Story dying kit, but she wanted to save all the stickers instead of decorating the eggs with them.
Kadence and GG
The Easter Bunny found her in Wyoming.
She was so surprised and happy to see that basket, we'd ask her, "Kadence, what is that?" and she'd reply with "it's mine!" It's like she didn't really know why she was getting this cool stuff, but she knew it was hers. Silly girl.
She happened to wake up at 7 am on Easter morning, and was sure to go down the hall to wake up Grandma and Grandpa to show them her basket.
Then, she spotted the mysterious eggs all over the house...and quickly gathered them up.

Grandpa and Grandma gave her these cool shades.
That afternoon we headed back to Utah and stopped in Morgan for more Easter fun. Avery, showing off her Easter duds. She's a doll, her toes and earings both matched her turquoise dress.
Nana and Papa had a surprise for the kiddos on their plates, stuffed animals in an egg.

Strike a Pose...
Annette had the table decorated so cute!

After a yummy dinner it was time for another egg hunt.

Some of the terrain was a little rocky, needed help from Nana.

Kadence was so excited about the MoNeY in the eggs!
This little handsome guy is such a sweetie!
The 3 of us
And when we finally made it home...there was one more BIG surprise...
A trampoline! Since Alexis and Ben are moving, they so generously sold us their 1 yr. old tramp for a fraction of the original price, so nice of them.
She LOVES it! Whenever someone comes to the house, they must go out and jump for a little while.

This tramp makes for some crazy hair!
Static...so funny.
Hope everyone had a fun Easter Weekend!
