Where's Adam???

If you were wondering where Adam was while I was in Nashville, he was on a awesome guided hunt in Hamilton, Colorado. He and his friend Rory bid on it during an auction last year, and they won it for a great price. They were there for 4 days, hunted pheasant, chucker, and got to fish a little. Adam was so excited about this trip and he said it was worth every penny. I'm happy that he got to have such a good time doing what he loves. I think his hunting season is going to be cut a bit short this year when baby Kadence gets here, so thank heaven for this trip!
This is the lodge they stayed in. They had their own rooms, and a personal chef. Adam said the food was so good, he thinks he gained 10 pounds, but I don't see it.
Rory and Adam are in the middle, the two on the sides were on the hunt with them.
This chair is made entirely out of antlers, deer or elk, I don't know...(I tried to get Adam to write this post, but he's not into it.)
Rory and the view from the lodge.
It's hard to see, but there was a black bear they could see from the deck.
These are the two German Shorthairs, Sage and Ruegger (just a puppy). They retrieved the birds for Rory and Adam. Ruegger made his first retrieval with them, good job!!
Between the two of them, they got 50 birds. The lodge staff cleaned and packaged the birds to send home with the guys. I guess I need to learn how to make pheasant...yum! ;)

Nashville, Tennessee

My mom, my brother Scott, and I took a trip to Nashville, TN to visit my mom's best friend Laurel. They've been friends since the 2nd grade! My mom even named me after her, Brittany Laurel. She lives on a farm right outside Nashville, in a town called Franklin. A few of her neighbors are Tim Mcgraw and Faith Hill, Kenny Chesney, Alan Jackson, etc... Who needs a resort when you've got Laurel's southern hospitality and her beautiful house! We had so much fun!

I was a little nervous about our 7 hour plane ride, because this big belly of mine is doing a number on my back, but my mom got us these cute pink pillows, and they were a lifesaver! I highly recommend investing in one if you travel at all, pregnant or not.
This is my mom and Laurel, it's great they are still such good friends after all those years!

Tootsies is famous bar on Broadway St. in downtown Nashville. People come to play here in hopes of making it BIG!
While we were in Tootsies listening to a band play some good country music, in walked John Michael Montgomery, from Montgomery Gentry. The singer in the band introduced him, and asked if he would get on stage and sing a couple songs with him. Honestly, we didn't know if it was really him or not, but people in the bar told us it was. He is the one on the right in the picture. The other guy is the man who wrote Tequila Makes her Clothes Fall Off, that Joe Nichols sings. I think he had a bit too much tequila (if you can't tell from his red eyes!) He walked up to me and introduced himself, and I asked if we could get a picture. They were both really nice. I put one of Montgomery Gentry's songs on my blog, I had to look them up on iTunes to see what they sang. They actually have a lot of songs out right now. This is a pic of John Michael Montgomery, just so you can see it was really him ;)

We went to eat at the Melting Pot one night, oh, it was so good!

It's a fondue restaurant, it took us like 3 hours to eat because you cook your own food, but it was way yummy. The desert was my favorite!!

We took a trip down the Cumberland River on this steamboat called the General Jackson. It was cool too see the city from the river.
This fountain is along the driveway up to Laurel's farm, so pretty, I told you it was like a resort!

Scott and I, lounging in the pool, don't mind my WHITE legs...

Laurel got this 2008 Chevrolett Corvette for her birthday this year. She let Scott and I drive it! I was so nervous because it is a stick shift, and I haven't really driven a stick shift since my days with the Toyota Celica back in high school, but it all came back to me. I wish I could have just driven it home to Utah, but I don't think a carseat would fit too well in it, there's no back seat.

Thanks for the good time Laurel!!!

Guess who else is Prego...

My brother Jared and his wife Ashley!!! Yeah!!...we are so excited for them! They are due sometime in late March, early April. I don't know what they are hoping for yet, boy or girl? WoW, by next spring there will be 3 new little grandbabies at my dad and Susan's house. My step-sister, Kallie, and her husband Tim are expecting a baby boy, Gage, next month. That will make 6 grandkids all together. Congratulations Jared and Ashley, being pregnant is awesome! We love you guys!

Memories of Me

I keep seeing this on people's blogs, and I think it is such a fun idea. Here are the directions:

1. As a comment on my blog, leave a memory that you have with me or my family. It doesn't matter if you know us a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses...

Sweet Baby Kadence

We had our targeted ultrasound yesterday for my 6 month appointment. It was so cool seeing her in 4-D! The ultrasound tech. checked all of her anatomy, heart, brain, organs, etc... She said everything looks perfect, and her growth measures at exactly 24 weeks. We were SO relieved to find out that she is healthy, and she has all the right parts. Once again, it was hard to get a really good view of her little face because she is head down, and facing toward my back. We were lucky enough to get a little glimpse though =) Oh yeah, she had the hiccups during the ultrasound. It made me laugh every time, and we would see my whole belly shake on the monitor, it was so funny!

This is her profile, you can see her nose, mouth, cheeks, and chin. I think it looks like she might have her daddy's nose. Adam says he can't tell who she looks like yet. All we know is that she looks pretty dang cute ;)

This is how she looked for most of the ultrasound, it's like she was being shy. She kept her left arm up so it was covering her face, and she kept moving her right hand up to her mouth and back down. Maybe she just wants us to be surprised when she makes her big debut!

Making Progress

We got the furniture for the nursery last week, yay! (Thanks mom!!!!) Adam was so awesome and set up the changing table and crib asap. We absolutely love it, and couldn't be happier. I think I go and just look in her room at least 4 times a day. Now we just need to get some stuff on the walls, and wait for her arrival, can't wait!

The instructions for the crib were a little confusing, none of the pieces were labeled!

This little bird is my favorite!

Happy 25th Anniversary!!!

My mother and father-in-law's 25th Anniversary was July 30th, wahoo! We through a bash for them at their house, and invited their closest friends and family. We had a great turnout, and it was a lot of fun! Alexis and I (mostly Alexis), made a DVD of memories over the past 25 years for them. They have grown and accomplished so much together, and their love for one another is still very much alive. Andy surprised Annette with a BEAUTIFUL new ring, it is amazing, good job Andy!! We hope you had fun, here's to 25 more years together. We love you!!

This is their cake topper they had on their wedding cake in 1983, so cute!

The cute couple.
My brother Scott helped celebrate with us.
My dad and Susan
Alexis and I
My sweetie and I

Our niece, Avery, was the princess of the party. Her onesie said "This is my Little Black Dress." She looked adorable!

Nothing cuter than a babies bottom in a tutu!

Someone partied a little too hard.

Camping adventures at Beaver Mountain

We went camping over the weekend of the 24th at Beaver Mountain, right by Bear Lake. This is the 3rd year in a row we've gone with Adam's family, and it is so fun. I forget every year how much work camping is, loading everything, setting it up, bringing all the food, etc..., but it is worth it. We always come home with some good memories, and funny stories.

Alexis captured Adam and Moose, looking strikingly similar, don't you think?

We were having a heated discussion, and the rule was you had to be holding the flashlight to speak, Avery looks like she's in deep thought.

Avery Kate is the sweetest little girl, she loves to cuddle!
Brogan helped his daddy make dutch oven cheesy potatoes, yummy!!

Adam set up our HUGE 7 man tent all by himself. My mom thought we would need a bigger tent, since our family (my belly) is growing, thanks mom!

Alexis suggested we play the IPod game around the camp fire. One person picks a song to sing while wearing the headphones, so only they can hear the music, all the audience hears is the person singing, so funny!!! Scott did awesome, he sang Tequila Makes her Clothes Fall Off, by Joe Nichols.
Ben did a great impression of Snoop Dog's, Loddy Doddy! Bear Lake was fun, Brogan loved to be pulled into the water on his tube and Moose couldn't get enough Frisbee. Next year's trip is going to be much different for Adam and I, we will have a 8 month old to bring along!
