We went up to the ranch for Memorial Day Weekend for Branding 2010. Kadence had a bit of a cold, but other than that it was a good weekend. There were 25 people all together that stayed the whole weekend. It was crazy but fun!
Kadence loves the "Neigh-Neigh's" (horses).
Feeding Luke
It was a little chilly with the wind, that's why we're all bundled up.
Kadence had a blast with the other 12 grandkids, this is little Sawyer, he's such a cutie, and always happy!
Roundin' up the 100+ cows
Going to check out what exactly they were doing to the cows...
Oh no...she didn't like it one bit! I think she got a little scared watching the calves get snipped, vaccinated, and branded. A little traumatic for a 18 month old!
Adam's job was to get the calves from the corral, and down this chute where they were clamped down tight so the other guys could do the branding and such. There were some BiG calves and a couple times Adam was trying to scare them down the chute and the thing would back up! He'd have to basically ride them into the clamp. It was funny to watch. In the past they have done the branding the good ol' fashioned way, with ropers. The boys would tackle the calve to the ground and hold them down, but this year they didn't have the ropers, so the boring way is what had to be done ;-)
Kadence and Emery ate together...aren't they so cute?
